Loss is not an enemy of success. Failure is not an enemy of success. Things like loss and failure are parts of a larger more significant process that is geared toward ultimate learning and ultimate appreciation and respect for that process. We have all been told how nothing worth while is ever easy. Well now, that all depends on the goals. Are the goals personal wealth and security above all else? I don't know. Are the goals to make the world a better place for all people? I don't know. One man has a version of success that has meanings attached that go way, way back into his childhood. Another man just wants to go through one week without taking himself to the edge of oblivion. And still another man thinks success is getting his weight down to 200 pounds. Under the umbrella of what it means to be successful, the space is very large and very personal.

One thing about living in a gambling town, however large or small, is the fact that anybody can be on their way in or on their way home and stop off at any mini-mart to pick up a soda and smokes and on their way out drop a 5 in a poker machine and have the royal delt to them first hand out of the gate. I've seen it happen to a couple on their way out of town. I suspect they weren't hurting for money, but nobody ever really knows anybody... now do we? Anyway, after she hit the 4 g's she got on the horn and called somebody in a rant, a fast-paced rant full of renewed energy. I think we all know the terrible stories of people losing everything and then going back to their room and blowing their brains all over the walls. Those tragedies are very real, but there is so much more to lady luck than the few bad hands she has a tendency to deal you. You just have to understand they are coming. Most of the time, the bigger wins come when you least expect them. They always come when you least expect them....

They will lie to you and place you into positions that cause you dismay because they feel as though you are a threat to their well being... and that's over a different shift at taco bell for minimum wage. Imagine the focus of destruction that comes to those who threaten someone of let's say, more than a moderate means to create a distraction that is loud and mean enough to kill hundreds and then make money from it... without them. Is it competition that drives "an" economy or is it the thoughtful planning and then destruction of a foreseeable enemy for major dollars? Make no mistake, lies are an integral part of a society that kicks out more liars than most other societies... by default.
