Without failure and disappointment and loss no man or woman can grow. It's not like pain is a necessary component for growth of the mind to occur, but it is a component nonetheless. When positive things happen, and they are all exciting, it could be the culmination of years and years of sweat, blood, and tears which then led to that excitement. While failure and success have many definitions, they can both play an integral part in the learning process. This is how growth occurs.
