Everybody should get lost in their darkness at least once. The odds are nothing will happen unless your natural tendency is to take things too far right from the beginning. No! It is something you ease into more than anything else because little by little everything changes... even the food tastes different.

Alice In Chains - Would?

Gin Blossoms - Found Out About You

A seemingly rational friend of mine in his 30's was about to start an argument with me recently where he was going to take the side of video games being just as much a reality as anything else. He did not clarify in his statement as to video games being separated from reality, but part of a reality one chooses that operates separately from what we all still understand reality to be. His side was going to be that reality is video games and vice-versa. Certainly with the amount of time he gives personally to video games I can understand how he can see a good portion of his reality being that of a video game. The question then becomes... what next for him? For the rest of us?

It is terrible to witness someone you love deteriorate before your eyes. I've heard a lot of people talk about the experience and I have read about it and seen it on television, but none of those things compare to real life experience in this area. I guess the first part is living with an understanding that it is not about you. What is happening is happening because it is happening. It is the fault of nobody. I can understand how people can be selfish in this kind of situation and speak about themselves and how they feel. I suppose I can say with certainty that the person I once knew no longer exists. She was gone a long time ago. In the big scheme of things, what is happening could be viewed as somewhat of a blessing. Maybe that's just me looking at the bright side of things... a rare occurrence in my life. I guess there will always be music that moves me and the game that brings me the most joy.
