Simply put, it just means the corporation is a person and he dictates the basic policy structure through the lobby and to the government. The government then acts on that corporation (person's behalf). Profit is the number one motivator. The harmony they sell, the patriotism, is just a small part of keeping the whole thing together. It's not an evil conspiracy. It's just what happens, historically speaking. In a real sense then, it can be said that we are no longer a democracy of the people, by the people, and for the people. Well, that's not necessarily true now is it? I suppose in some ways television is the thing that keeps everything together and broken apart so beautifully. Without the illusion, we have nothing of what we think we have and everything we don't.
