here we are

Jill was a normal woman. Confused as we all are between the ages of 12 and 47, Jill began working for the State where she learned the true meaning of time and how much of it can be waisted in a day; not just any one day in particular, but all days individually and combined year after miserable year.
Jack had a good job as a repairman. He never missed a day and always had beer and steak money. Jack also one day decided to work for the State in another capacity. Just yesterday Jack said, "work, you ain't missin nothin!" The man has put on weight, gotten greyer, and his blood pressure is higher than his normal 100 over 70. I swear if he wasn't pink you'd think he was dead.
Jack and Jill now cannot wait for retirement for about 1/4 of their current wage. As time goes by however, we can expect prices to continue to move up as the housing market rebounds and then guess what? the only jobs available will be in law enforcement which will then branch off into separate units each with their own agenda but owned by the same corporation; much as it is now. As crime goes up there will be a need for more law enforcement which will require higher taxes no matter how you slice it. However, no jobs, no taxed income... and who is in charge anyway? Meanwhile Jack and Jill can expect a retirement of 1/4 of what they are accustomed too. Oh yeh, Jack cannot retire until he is seventy. He is 48 now going on 62.
