We can't go back in time because that would be... ridiculous. We are transitioning, albeit very slowly, from a time when society has fully and enthusiastically embraced constant information and access to whatever and whenever into a time where we have begun to see the damage that can be done when media tactics are employed that hold people apart. We have yet to recognize, as the whole of us as a people, the divisions that have been created and taken advantage of by those who could care less about who gets hurt or what institutions get bruised in the process. One day, people will have concluded this point in our history to be influenced to the extreme by false narratives and propaganda the likes never before seen in human history. Markets will one day open up that will teach people young and old how to balance the constancy of information with the business of being alive and expressing that openly and without an agenda. People will learn to have fun again without the fear of being mugged, raped or shot... which is much of what is written into our favorite tv programs and movies. I am looking to the world of art and something great to happen in that arena to maybe spur an interest toward our welcoming nature as human beings.... welcoming mostly to our individual selves where the main battles are currently taking place.

We all need time to ourselves, a lot of time to ourselves. Once time becomes regulated, scheduled, and formatted your life also becomes regulated where free time is not only a waste of time, but a waste of money. Not until someone like this reaches old age will they ever really see what they missed... simply being with no pretext or preparation... to just wander and wonder at the glory of it all... to be thankful and compassionate... to smile at someone who could really use a smile.

I just don't think answers can be found in the city. I think the human animal was not designed to be placed in such close proximity with so many other human animals. Because soon one of those animals comes out with a different color stripe going down his back. He is marked and categorized immediately... first as different and therefore not to be trusted. Some human animal looking to make a name for himself says out loud that he will not be serving that human animal in his stable because he has that stripe and is confirmed as different. His business at the stable would suffer by throwing food in his troph(?) and will claim out-loud his right not to throw food in that troph. And boom, we have a national controversy where people in Oregon and California start to protest over that human animals right to eat at that stable. Enter media and just sit back and watch the carnage. Talk shows, news channels (wait.... oh ah hahahahahahahahaha) all throwing their 2 cents in the big slot machine. And all along the way until the controversy burns itself out to make room for yet another one, no good fuckers will profit and use what they see to promote their own agenda for their own benefit. Mankind, we're just funny like that.

It is always a shock when somebody you know passes away. In 1983, I had a nephew who drowned in a swimming pool. But that day he was being watched by his coked-up mother at some other guys house. He fell in, she panicked and ran next door to call the ambulance. She then went back to the pool, jumped in and got him out. By the time he arrived at the hospital he was gone. He was not even 3 years old. On the other end of the spectrum, there is old age. It is something different, to me, when someone who is along in years passes away. My grandparents lived long lives, all four of them. Their lives were by no means easy, but in reality, who's life is easy... really? I often talked with my grandmother and she was always brutally honest with me. One day she told me that getting old is no fun. She talked about the many reasons why, but her main reason, I gathered, for saying such a thing was when she told me about how the older you get the more you get the chance to see all your friends die. To me, that was the key statement. It solidified for me that for all of us... there is no possible way out. It sold me on the reality that there needs to be one important thing in life. We all need "one thing" to keep us coming back for more. For some, it's faith. For other folks it's music that keeps them wanting to wake in the morning. Other people may find their work to be enough motivation to keep moving forward. I know the feelings associated with not having that "one thing" to look forward to in the morning. I know and understand the emptiness that comes with that mentality. It gets particularly tough when one is witnessing the decline of ones own parent(s) with absolutely nothing coming from anybody else in the family. It is almost as if our childhoods and the hard work our folks did all along the way to keep things somewhat together... were not good enough. I truly have to say that there is indeed Nothing particularly special about getting old. Grandma..... I know you're playing golf right now and are walking great!

I am madness in a shell. The world I know is different. It has to be. That's because no two people can possibly view anything in the world in exactly the same way. Yet everything feeds from the same force, the sun. Nothing, absolutely nothing happens on this planet without the sun. And with that light comes the darkness. I have been working hard for quite some time now to simplify things. I know about television and quit watching some time back. Sports don't mean that much to me because there is too much... well, enough about that. I guess the only thing I really love and respect is the game of golf. I don't even play anymore because it costs too much. It's strange because i am all alone and I am happy, but I'm not. I really don't need anything but a roof and a floor to sleep on, but I do. If there is music close by, I may come and say hi. It's difficult to tell. I am madness in a shell.

Every single day there is someone who kills himself in this and all other countries. People have been doing it since the beginning. Also, people die through all kinds of means each and every day. These are people we never hear about unless they are family or friends. Otherwise, all people die is relative obscurity and alone. One could say we come into this world in much the same way. As we all know, the only truths we know for sure is that there will always be taxes and we are all going to die. We've all joked about those two concepts since we heard the joke when we were kids with our entire lives ahead of us. Now, many of us are getting older and with our age we are beginning to see our friends and family fall. Someone said a long time ago that longevity is the reward for a good life. I'm not so sure about that statement. Thus far, age has taught me: the longer we live, the more we get to see those we care about die. Our significance level to society diminishes with age. Pain increases everywhere. And you finally understand how meaningless it was to be in a hurry or buy things you did not need. In reality, there is only so much one can do with money and love is the only real thing that anyone takes with them when their bodies cease to function... for whatever reason. Now, in this time, it is more important than ever for people to abandon their ritualized work schedule that has modified their lives into a smaller, more predictable, less free version of themselves and exchange it for the sunshine and moonshine of another career... one that has their heart right in the middle of the picture.

I believe we don't hear the truth just as we don't see the truth. This is for two reasons: First, words are easily placed in such a way as to give off meanings that are other than what they read. Second, no two people hear in the same ways and therefor no real consensus can be agreed upon. Within this mess of humanity and salesmanship, one can seek out the truth. Unfortunately, when the truth is revealed or is stumbled upon, depending on who and what amount of money is involved, can be a life-changing experience. At the very least, it can forever prevent someone from wanting to participate in the game at all. Every hero that has ever existed... every man of success that has ever walked our earth was, is, and will be... flawed. When words are written about an event, it depends on how the writer feels about the participants and/or the outcome as to how those words will be received. Once passion is placed within a structure of words and the words reflect that passion, emotions are stirred and truth can become very much an incidental thing. This is very much like what we see. Hollywood makes movies and none of them are real. Every image, unless it is historical and true footage, is manufactured with words to fit. Truth can be found, but provability will always be an issue as truth once again becomes secondary.

You can't try to be an original anything. It is not something to search for and find. Well, in fact, it very much can be something that needs to be sought after and found. Some people can just let it go, say... their natural curiosity for things or maybe their dreams altogether. That is the place from where our originality grows. In that sense, it can be said that originality is not lost, but misplaced and/or forgotten about over time due to the stresses of the day or circumstance(s) one may find himself involved with. One certainly has to be an original entity to deal with things, certain things that occur in life that do happen quite by chance which can be somewhat... infuriating. Outside of circumstance, it takes a certain something for someone to stick by their original goals, their original vision... whatever that vision may be. In order for anybody to conquer the realities of the day, they have to stay simple and true to that one vision, that one simple theme that drove the original idea in the first place. This is one way to seek out and find what is truly original... in you.

It is my disease and yours that must endure and together we must journey through the exotic until we no longer can bear the thought of life with one another. This was her attitude and at the time it made perfect sense. I agreed with her in that no two people should stay together once the fire burns out. But that wasn't us. We had no kids and never wanted any.
Kids do not need to see the negative friction being delivered to them because the "colliders" think it is best to remain a couple Because of the kids. In actuality, kids don't need to see a relationship die and then maintain itself using them as vessels for future fortune and dream realization in their parents eyes. That can be viewed as a world of insanity where anything can happen.

I remember observing the wives of my brothers. I remember each of them lovingly playing the role of wife. One time, I was playing golf with my brother in Taft. We were on the fifth tee, which is about the furthest we can get from the clubhouse where the phone is located. The announcement was something to the effect of emergency. My brother hopped in the cart and rolled all the way over to the clubhouse. After letting three groups ahead of us, he comes back smiling... but he did not mention what the conversation was about. We hit our tee shots, got in the cart and boom, another call. My brother took me to my ball and then rolled back to the clubhouse to take the call. Over the next 5 holes he left the game three more times to take a call from his new bride. She was, to say the very least, obsessive and compulsive. The only person in the world that really mattered was her. Needless to say, they did not divorce until after having two boys. Since that time, my brother refuses to marry and she has been married three more times... each man wealthier than the next. Always the money it was with that woman. Always the fucking money.

People often say, " The day is gone, but not forgotten." This tragic way to see the picture being painted is important. It's important because it offers a perspective, a certain glare on one aspect... one possibility of a reality (a way of seeing the world), chosen or not, that is being displayed openly and on purpose or not upon those who each see what is occurring in different ways using different parameters for measurement and diagnosis of an issue that may or may not exist in real time among real people who inhabit the same space on the same lot during the same span of time. The best of what is gone but not forgotten may be happening before you... more often than you care to hear or to see.
