It could be that our self awareness is morphing into a sort of avatar on social networking sites. In real life we hide our true selves as a means to an end. On social networking sites there are many more means to many more ends. It could be that we are now only as good as the number of friends we have, the number of contacts we have stored in our hand held devices, and the amount of money we have available on credit.
