It has been my experience that a significant proportion of people with some form of darkness and negativity in their minds are those who learned early on how to hide those thoughts away from everybody using various aspects of their personalities where and when appropriate. At some point and far too often, the struggle strengthens its hold while the signs remain hidden. And like a burst of raging nothingness, when all thoughts and struggles have been too much for the mind to bear, one finds him/herself in the corner of a room staring at the wall with wide open eyes and a tear rolling down their face. It is the culmination of everything said, heard, thought, and learned attacking consciousness simultaneously. It is a complete shutdown, a complete mental shutdown.
